Trying to create new and unique social media posts to send to fans or customers (or potential fans or potential customers) can be difficult because there are only so many ways to say something, and you don’t want to be repeating yourself word for word in post after post. You can get stuck with writer’s block in a hurry.
ChatGPT can solve this problem for you.
For example: let’s say a band is going to play on some date, at some time, at some location. They want to advertise this by posting the information, and a link to the website where a person can buy tickets, on Twitter (X), Instagram, and Facebook. They’ll want to send out multiple posts per day. Since the basic information (who’s playing, when they’re playing, and where) remains constant throughout it’s hard for a person to come up with variations. But ChatGPT can do it.
Let’s assume the band is called “Synthetic Turf,” that they are playing at The Hole in the Wall in Santa Monica, California, and the show starts at 10 PM on July 27th. Here’s how one might ask for ChatGPT’s help:
Give that information, ChatGPT created social media posts for Twitter (X), Instagram, and Facebook, as seen below:
I’m only showing the first two posts of each type, but as requested there were ten Twitter (X) posts, ten Instagram posts, and EIGHT Facebook posts?! What’s the deal? I had to ask for two more. This is the kind of weird mistake that ChatGPT sometimes makes.
It would be super-cool if ChatGPT could do the posting for me, but right now they can’t:
Not absolutely perfect, and I would have to actually put the posts onto Twitter (X), Instagram, and Facebook, but this saved a ton of time. Nice of ChatGPT to offer to show me how to schedule the posts– ChatGPT did that without me asking. Very nice.
